After its Cyberpunk 2027 XR glasses last year, VITURE is back with another special edition – this time a variation on its flagship Beast video display glasses. The new Phantom Beast carries a “kungfupunk” aesthetic through a collaboration with Phantom Blade Zero-studio, S-GAME.
Phantom Beast offers all the premium specs of the standard Beast model – representing the high end of VITURE’s lineup (see spec sheet below). It will build on that foundation with intricate design elements that embody the spirit of traditional Chinese wuxia and punk fantasy.
Those aesthetic details include original artwork, engravings, and iconography pulled from Phantom Blade Zero’s visual signature. The attention to that detail is represented holistically throughout the hardware itself (e.g., metal detailing on the temples), and even the carrying case.
“This was personal for me,” said VITURE founder David Jiang. “Wuxia is part of how I grew up, and Phantom Blade Zero honors that world in a way I’ve been waiting to see for a long time. Building Phantom Beast let us do more than put a logo on a product, we built a way for people who’ve never set foot in the Wulin to feel like they belong there. That’s what VITURE exists to do: put you inside the story, not just in front of it.”
Energy Boost
Stepping back, video display glasses sit in a unique spot on the spatial spectrum with the simple yet compelling value proposition to mirror content from USB-C devices. This involves massive virtual screens to watch movies, play games, or be productive in a private environment.
Meanwhile, design collaborations like Phantom Beast offer an energy boost to the already momentous device category. As a category leader, VITURE continues to roll out new models and variations. Its line includes Luma Pro (see our review), Ultra, Beast, and the Pro 2.
The latter was just released as a streamlined addition to VITURE’s line. It’s been lauded price-to-quality ratio, as shown in our recent review roundup. But the point here is that its very recent release, in tandem with this week’s Phantom Beast, demonstrate VITURE’s pace of activity.
Back to device specs, we’ll leave you with the feature chart below. Users can get the device starting on October 29, which is timed with the release of Phantom Blade Zero. This timed release, with pre-orders starting this week, should provide additional buzz and boost unit sales.
